What's Chicken Chow Mein for Our Neighbours
During the London 2012 Olympic Games, we opened our church to the public. With more than 30 volunteers, we served the London visitors, Olympics volunteers, and those in need from the local community.
We broadcasted the Olympics Live, provided refreshments (and Chicken Chow Mein), prayer rooms, and spreaded the gospel.
The initiative became a catalyst – leaders and volunteers at KXMC were enthused and inspired to do more. We wish to utilise the excellent location we are in, and serve those in need in the local community as we are called to do.
Hence we decided to start our ‘Chicken Chow Mein’ Misssion to:
Love Our Neighbours
Care Our Community
Challenge Our Limits
The initial phase of the project is to open the Crestfield Street Chapel every Wednesday of each week to anyone who wishes to have a place to sit down and have a warm meal (including all of you who is reading this).
Guest feedback
The responses so far have been overwhelming, and we wish to share with you a selection of the comments we have got in our guest book:
